SUPER short update

Actually, due to my period getting out of whack, the doc decided in addition to checking my blood for thyroid & all the other vitamin levels, she had me give a urine sample to test my estrogen levels as well. & all of that cost about $83. Then the acne cream I've been out of for about a month, plus 5 days' worth of iron & thyroid pills cost $30. She also gave me a referral for an orthopedic clinic down the street (so hopefully no more of me putting, "sprained shin" into translators & the doctor telling me I have a contusion. Hopefully).

I also realized I completely forgot to mention that the air purifier (which hasn't needed a new filter yet, at least according to the change filter indicator) has changed my life. You know, you can't see it, of course, but I also CAN'T open my windows, so though you know apartments aren't airtight, I still didn't think my apartment could be that bad. But ohhh, I can breathe like a normal human being, & it's APRIL! When I'm home for the weekend, my skin starts relaxing & clearing up, only for Monday to come along & plunge it back into shittiness. I do so wish I'd gotten this thing much sooner than I did.

& finally, I finally heard from Jason again. He'd been doing ok, he just got tired of work so took 1.5 weeks off to go to Nicaragua, where a guy he's talked to for about a year but never met in person lives. Jason had been to Nicaragua before anyway, so they went to this favorite island. They got back the city JUST in time for the anti-government protests/riots to start, so that's when he left. I'm glad it wasn't another month before he got in touch like when I first got to Korea. I miss talking to him after 2 weeks or so.

Holy crap! A month already?!

I've got very little to show for it. Once or twice I thought about posting but meh, didn't seem like enough to do so.
Back of left-- see the little knot in the center?

Believe it or not, the back of the left leg is still cranky-- I can't sit Indian style (or can't for more than a few seconds). I could do pigeon pose last week, but today, that was a big old nope. Today I also noticed a little swelling back there. I'm attaching almost certainly useless pictures for your perusal. I think I'm going to the doctor tomorrow (my pills will be finished on Sunday, & I usually go on Tuesdays or Thursdays). I'm sure she'll assure me I'm nuts, but I'll ask her about it.

Back of right leg, normal

UnFORTUNATELY, I'm getting my thyroid levels checked again. My period was out of sync March & April (but just the timing, nothing else), & that costs $100. This is especially unfortunate because I spent just over $300 at Costco. 2-3 of them are one-time purchases, & one of them, the Brita water pitcher, was only $30. I picked it up, put it down so I could take a picture of the display & post it to the Expats Grocery Gurus.... & then apparently never picked the pitcher back up, because I didn't realize I didn't bring it home til I got to work. It was about 1.5 cups or more bigger than the one online, & $10 cheaper. I SOOOOO didn't want to go back up, but I was really counting on using it then, especially because my skin has broken out again, could be a couple things or absolutely nothing, but I figured filtered water would help. I thought I'd have to go back up the next morning & I was SOO TIRED, but luckily the older kids are prepping for their big English exams, so Sue wanted to stay with my last class. & because it's the fuck show Korea, the display which was taller than I was at 11:00 AM was now down below my knees. Shit just sells OUT here, it gets wiped out. OH! But getting up there, I decided I didn't want to wait the 9 minutes for the direct bus, so took another, might have missed my stop but needed my map app to get me to the next stop, & my phone battery was low & wouldn't have made it, so I wasted the $10 savings on a taxi who couldn't understand Costco, Jangjae, or even the Korean name, & had to put it into his GPS.

Jason is pulling his... tri- or bi-annual ghosting, where he doesn't look at what's app, nor this time reply to emails. Last time he was deeply depressed in Colombia. I'd crack a joke about how I would be too, & from what he's told me about it, I would, but I was thinking the other night that I didn't hate Peru, just Aguas Calientes, which I hated so much it overwhelmed much else. But I did like Peru, so hey, maybe one day my S American embargo will be over.

I've been hanging out more with my friend Jess & her friends, so I'm getting out a wee bit more. This weekend I'm joining them for the azalea festival, then meeting a 50-year-old new teacher (who looks it but everyone tells her she looks young, & she thinks she does too) for dinner, somehow. Good times.

I'm working on my damned new resume, I've narrowed it down to 3 styles. I have to decide soon & start looking for part time remote jobs again. I need some money.

I'm taking the Yale course on happiness on Coursera, & one on world literature on EdX, so I guess I've got more than enough to do while the top of my calf continues to not heal much, or heal & then get bitchy again. I'm taking it easy on my workouts-- did just 35 minutes or so of yoga to work on strength & stretching, but it hurt toward the end a bit & she was ending with cross leg poses, so I decided I'd done enough.

& with that I think I've written enough too.
